The National Museum of American Art This site is part of the Smithsonian Institute on-line museums and galleries. It includes hundreds of annotated images from all areas of American art, reports of upcoming events, and interaction with some of the artists in the collection. The research resources in American Art were excellent. The White House collection of American crafts with "snazzy" video and audio presentations is very interesting.

This site will be helpful in student research. ReadersNdex Publisher's Weekly describes this site as the "Grandaddy of all book sites". It is loaded with up-to-date information about authors and titles. In the "Bookshelf" section viewers can browse the comprehensive catalog of books by title or subject, or view author home pages. The "Publishers" section includes home pages of over 50 publishers and information about their new releases and current works.
