Second Grade

Second graders are faced with many changes at Oneida. Manuscript handwriting makes way for cursive handwriting. Simple multiplication (up to5) and division are introduced. The Writing-to-Read lab is no longer part of their day. They are now ready for the Write-toWrite lab.

The Write-toWrite lab enables students to expand words and ideas into full fledged stories. Math and Language Arts computer programs are also available in this lab for the students' utilization.

Each classroom is equipped with four student computer workstations and software, laser disk player, television, and VCR. The Windows-on-Science laser disk program is used to supplement and enhance the science program.

The second grade teachers are very proud of the school and of all the accomplishments that have been made within the last five years.
