A HISTORY OF NORMANDY
Normandy was a very popular town while the railroad was making daily stops. It had three or four stores, several mills, and, at one time, three gas stations. Normandy had its own high school, which was built in 1936, and had the first gym in Bedford County. The school was closed in the 1970's and the building is now a private residence. The main attractions located in Normandy include Bedford Lake, Normandy Lake, George Dickel Distillery, and the Normandy Fish Hatchery.
