Mr. Roger Huffman

Roger Huffman was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, a refinery town on the out-skirts of Houston. He graduated at The University of Texas in Austin in 1977, with a bachelors degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences specializing in geography and economics. After working for years as a Quality Assurance Engineer in the nuclear industry and a technical sales representative in the petro-chemical industry, Roger decided to enter the profession that was always closest to his heart, teaching.
In the early 90's, he went back to school going at night after he'd get off work from his day job. After three and a half years of night school, Roger received his Texas teaching certification. That summer, he and his wife, Darla, a professional dog trainer, decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee. After earning his Tennessee teaching certification, he has now been a Tennessee teacher for three years including two years in Williamson County and this last year at Harris Middle School where he is teaching 7th grade social studies.
Roger enjoys playing guitar and singing, as well as, training his dog, Archie, an Australian Shepherd in the fine art of Agility competition.
Now living in Wartrace, Roger and Darla thoroughly enjoy Tennessee and the people who live here.
