Lunch tickets are sold in the gym lobby on Monday mornings.
Some important school policies:
Read the handbook carefully
No gum or candy unless given to you by the teacher
you will need to check out with proper procedures, check the handbook for those.
You should always be in the area of your block. Do not wander the building.
Have your agenda with you at all times. Do not tear out the pages. If it loses pages, keep up with those. Your agenda must be intact or you can't attend the activities.
Class policies:
Rules and consequences are posted in each class and enforced
Rules are fair, consistent, and for everyone
Behavior and grade reports are conveyed to parents often
If the teacher is away from the room or if a substitute or aide is present, you follow the same rules.
Respect all materials and property in the room. Be kind to books, furniture, computers, etc.
Any medicine must be handled through the office.
Grades:
Grades are determined by daily work, classwork, homework, projects, tests, and occasionally extra credit work.
HOMEWORK COUNTS!
Make up any work missed while you are absent. See the teacher about your missed work.
TIPS ON HAVING A GREAT YEAR
Good communication is important! Take all old tests, work, and notes home and return signed what needs to be signed. Record important assignments and notes in your agenda. If someone at home needs to talk with the teachers, please encourage them to do so. Learning happens better when teacher(s), student, and parent(s) work together.
Do your best
Be in assigned seat when the bell rings and ready to work
Eat a good breakfast and get enough rest
Come to school clean
Use good English and good manners
No cheating in any way!!! (That means sharing homework isn't allowed)
Make up missed work
Don't bother the teacher's or other student's belongings
Get organized
Write down assignments
Ask questions if you don't understand
Put headings on your paper (this will be explained in class)
Keep your locker clean
Remember: We, the teachers, promise to care and do our best to ensure that you learn. We also want to make learning fun. When students, teachers, and parents work together, school can be a very wonderful place. We, the sixth grade teachers, will do our best to create a wonderful working atmosphere. However, we need everyone's help in doing this. Any disturbance can keep others from learning. Please do your part to make this year one where everyone is learning, enjoying learning, and having a great, safe year!
