The chapter test (as always) is a standardized book test from the makers of the text.  The chapter test is much like these questions.  Please study the entire chapter for this test.  Study pages 142 - 171. 

Know......what is a verb and how do I find them?

Know.....what are helping verbs, linking verbs, transitive verbs, intransitive verbs, action verbs, and main verbs?

Know .....how do I find a direct object, indirect object, predicate noun, predicate adjective?  What are the questions I ask to locate the sentence patterns.  Sentence patterns are like puzzles.  When we work puzzles in class, make the connection.  The end pieces are like the subject and predicate (they frame the sentence).  The middle pieces are those other parts of speech.  When you work a puzzle, you put like pieces together.  When you work a sentence puzzle, put the action verbs  with direct objects and indirect objects.  Put the linking verbs with predicate nouns and predicate adjectives.
