Welcome to Sixth Grade

1. Believe in yourself, desire to do your best, and get organized.

2. Your schedule is important. Write it down, know it, and don't lose it. The same goes for your lock combination. REMEMBER, DO NOT SHARE YOUR LOCK COMBINATION OR YOUR LOCKER WITH OTHERS.

3. Supplies

A. Always bring paper, pencil, books, agenda, and any due assignment(s) to class.

B. Label what is yours.

C. Do not bring mechanical pencils. They cause distractions --leave them at home, please. They get stolen, cause arguments, and are a distraction when they lose lead. Teachers do not have time to intervene in arguments over these pencils. Teachers will just take them up. Also, please don't use ink unless you are directed to do so.

D. You need markers/crayons to keep in your locker until needed.

E. You will need fees for workboods, music, art, etc., your teachers will tell you the appropriate time for bringing in these fees. They will not be collected at once, nor will they be collected by only one teacher.

F. Rent for locks is $1.00. If you lose your lock during the year, you will be charged $4.00.

4. School Policies

A. READ the handbook found in front of the Agenda!

B. NO gum or candy unless the teacher gives it to you.

C. No office phone calls unless an emergency and then only with teacher permission.

D. Study the checkout procedure. Understand that you do not leave unless you go through proper channels. This is for your safety.

E. Field trip privileges will be takenaway for consistent and/or extreme misconduct. Again this is for everyone's safety.

F. The five minutes between classes is a privilege and should not be abused. It can be removed. Go promptly to the next class, take your seat, and remember proper behavior if in the restrooms or hallway.

G. Unless you are sent by a teacher somewhere else, you should be on the appropriate floor of your class.

H. Never leave the classroom without your agenda.

I. Purchase an agenda and keep it with you. Bring it each day to every class. Use it!
