Liberty School Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Doris Hines
2000-2001

Mrs. Hines has been teaching for twenty years. Her first four years were in sixth grade. Then she taught Chapter I reading for two years. For the past fourteen years, Mrs. Hines has been teaching third grade students.

After teaching her first four years, Mrs. Hines took a leave of absence to stay home with her two sons, Ross and Richard. She enjoyed her time at home with the boys, but she was ready to return to the classroom when her younger son started school. Her husband, Terry, has always been supportive of her career.

The faculty, staff, and students of Liberty School have a deep respect and admiration for Mrs. Hines. One of her students summed up his feelings by saying, "I love Mrs. Hines because she is my teacher, and she is the best!"
