What is looping?
In a looping classroom,
students stay with the same teacher for at least two years. The 1998-99 school
year was the first year for Thomas Intermediate School to implement the looping
program. Three of the previous year's fourth grade classrooms moved together to
the fifth grade and three of the incoming fourth grade classrooms were chosen
to participate.
