DR. SEUSS DAY— FRIDAY MARCH 1st--NEA's Read Across America will celebrate its FIFTH anniversary in March, 2002. NEA's Read Across America not only celebrates the joys of reading, but also honors Dr. Seuss, whose birthday falls on March 2. Since the good doctor's birthday is on a Saturday in 2002, our official celebration will be on March 1. NEA's Read Across America is the biggest one-day literacy celebration in the U.S., if not the world. Last year on March 2, there were reading events in all 50 states (as well as several foreign countries) that attracted more than 35 million readers of all ages.

Friday will be a school wide pajama party for all students and teachers who want to wear their pajamas. Your child does not have to wear them if they do not want to.

Thanks to the cafeteria for preparing green eggs and ham for breakfast Friday morning.

People from the community will be reading to the children throughout the afternoon. Thanks to Ms. Tapp for coordinating this event.
