The "EAGLE" Newsletter
A REMINDERIf you bring your child to school in the mornings, please drop them off at the gym door. Do not let him/her out at the front door if you do not intend to come in. If you are coming in after 8:00, you must come in, sign your child in and fill out a tardy slip in order for them to be admitted to class. Keep in mind that tardy minutes add up on attendance also.
In my ongoing quest to make the traffic situation easier for you in the morning, I am asking you to pull up to the orange cone that we will be keeping in the driveway. If it is not raining and you see several cars behind you, please pull up to the cone and hopefully others will follow and we can get more children unloaded at a time. Please be careful entering and leaving the school grounds.
Do not park to the side and walk across to the gym to get your child in the afternoons. If your child needs to be picked up right at 3:00, come a little earlier and be one of the first in line. It is dangerous. We do call numbers according to the lineup.
School starts at 8:00 AM. (SCHOOL BOARD POLICY) I will close the door at 8:00 AM.
Notice the new curtains in the office. A SPECIAL THANKS to Ms. Rose for making them for us. We appreciate her.
ParentsWe need your childs emergency forms back to keep on file in the office. If you have not filled this sheet out and returned it to your childs teacher, please do soin case we need to contact you. Also, if you have a Kindergarten child and have not sent their Social Security number to the school, please remember to do this. We need it for our attendance records.
Dress Code: If you are unsure of what to wear, check the dress code page.
A "GREAT BIG THANKS" to Jim Haynes and Frankie Taylor for putting our new bleachers together. You are both very appreciated.
BPTOwill meet September 11th @ 6:30 in the school cafeteria. Broadview BPTO Needs YOU!!!!!!
Head LiceRemember to check your child.
CoatsIf you have lost a coat, come by and look at the sack full we have here. I will be getting rid of them as we are cleaning out the room we keep them in. PLEASE put your childs name in their jackets, coats, sweaters, sweatshirts and on their bookbags. This room is going to be the home of the Computer Lab.
Art NewsArt classes are off to a great start with everyone making a portfolio for storing their artwork. This means that the students will not be bringing their art projects home (with the exception of their 3-D clay work.) By leaving their work in these portfolios in the art room, it allows each student to have a wide range of art from which to choose their favorite for our "School Art Exhibit" in March. All parents are welcome to view their childs work and appointments can be made with me through the office. I am at Broadview on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
A special thanks to the BPTO for the $1000.00 for art supplies. With this generous donation our children can have a variety of quality art mediums, tools, clay/glazes and papers to create fine artworks. Betsy Bucher
Library NewsBrenna May and Bethany Stovall donated books to our library from their home collections. Dwight Schultz purchased an AR book in memory of Mr. Ross Spaulding. Teresa Garner donated a bookstand to our library. Thank you very much for these donations. A great big thank you goes to Paula Scott and Kathryn Holder for volunteering in the library! Helen Rose
