Cub Scout Pack 140-- will have its monthly meeting on Monday October 15 at First United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. Deadline to register for Nov. 10 trip to Cumberland Caverns is Oct. 15. Cub Scouts is open to boys Grades 1-5. Come and join in the fun. Any questions call Craig Schmitz @ 962-1746.

Brownie Scouts—Meet Tuesday @3:00 in Ms. Bucher’s room.

Basketball Practice for Girls—3:45-5:15 P.M. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Basketball Practice for Boys—Monday—3:45—5:15 P.M.; Wednesday—5:30 –7:00 P.M.; Friday--3:45-5:15 P.M.

Please make arrangements for the siblings of the ballplayers to go home after school. There is no one on duty to care for him or her. The coaches do not have time to practice ball and watch the children who are not ball players.

Jr. Pro Basketball signups—will be at North (Scott) Jr. High cafeteria on Monday, October 15th from 6-to 8:30 PM and on Tuesday October 16th from 6-8:30 PM. This is for ages 8-16 as of Jan 1st, 2002. A copy of your child’s birth certificate and a $10.00 sign up fee is required. For more information, call Bobby King @ 967-9366.

Parenting Skills Training for Franklin County Parents—Jim Williams, director of Parent Education and Asset Development for STARS (Students Taking a Right Stand) will be teaching a parenting course this fall for Franklin County parents. These courses will begin on November 19th at 6:30 P.M @ Clark Memorial School. The other two dates are November 26th and December 3rd. More information will follow on this program.

Parent Opinion Survey—As we are working on our SACS accreditation, we would like some input from the parents. Please fill out the survey that was sent home with your child on Friday and return it to your child’s teacher. We do value your opinion. We have a treat for all that return the survey.

Cafeteria—We welcome your visits to eat with your child. Please call the cafeteria @ 962-2320 to select what you would like to eat. Salads are available only if ordered ahead of time. Ms. Jones

BPTOOctober 23rd—6:30 P.M.--VERY IMPORTANT MEETING--Committee members are urged to be at this meeting. We need to start finalizing plans for the Harvest Festival. Mark your calendars—Nov. 17th is the day of the Harvest Festival. Lots of activities planned.

Library News-- We will begin a fundraiser to buy much-needed AR books for our library tomorrow.  This will be a magazine drive and I would like to encourage all parents, family members, and friends of students to help make this a successful one.  Sydney Stovall, Nicole Stines, Ashley Walker, and Chris Walker have donated books to our library from their home collections.  Thank you!

Test Day—The fourth grade classes will be taking the Otis Lennon test on Wed. Oct. 17th—Please make sure that your fourth grader is at school on that day. There is no make up day for these tests.
