Halloween News
—Kindergarten—6th Grade. Kindergarten students will dress up as storybook character ( the student needs to bring that book in to share with class.) All other students can dress in costume. Lower grades will parade through the classrooms. Check with your student’s teacher about the plans for parties.

Headlice—Remember to check your child’s hair for lice.

Gideons—Friday October 26th the Gideons will give a small New Testament to the 5th grade students.

A Reminder—We are still finding coats and lunchboxes without names. Thanks to all of you for remembering to display your numbers. It is a big help.

Broadview Eagles—Halloween Tournament--Play at North Jr. High –Boy’s game will be Monday night at 5:30 PM. Boys will play Huntland. Girls will play Monday at 4:30. Girls play Moore County.

Our first regularly scheduled basketball game will be on Thursday, November1st @ North Lake School. Broadview will play @ 6:30 and 7:30. They will play Huntland.

5th Grade Program—S.T.A.R.S. – Mr. Jim Williams (director of Parent Education and Asset Development for STARS (Students Taking a Right Stand) will present a program to the 5th Grade class on the dangers of drinking and drugs. Mr. Williams is a highly effective speaker who uses personal stories to reach his audiences. Parents are welcome to sit in on the presentation. This program will be presented at 1:00 PM at the school. This is a reschedule from September. He will be presenting a course "Parenting for Prevention" beginning November 19th at 6:30 PM at Clark Memorial School. The other two dates will be November 26th and December 3rd. There is no cost for this program.

End of 6 weeks—November 8th, will be the last day of this 6 weeks.

BPTO—Remember the BPTO meeting on Tuesday night. It will be held in the school cafeteria. 6:30-7:30 Please come and help out for the Harvest Festival. WE NEED YOU!!!! Frankie

Library News--Our Magazine Subscription Fund Raiser began on Tues. the 16th.  We are hopeful that these funds will buy new AR books for our students.  NO DOOR-TO-DOOR SALES! If you have not purchased a subscription, please consider doing so and ask you families and friends to help, also.  Jim Prince has purchased an AR book in honor of Mr. Chris Clemons, our former P.E. student teacher, and he also purchased an AR book in honor of his coach, Mr. Kenneth Wells.  Mrs. Kathy Prince's class donated an AR book in honor of Mr. Clemons whose last day to be with us was the 12th.
The teachers at Broadview would like to thank Robert Cortner and his parents Jim and Holly Cortner for generously donating two magazine subscriptions to our library. Thank you, Savannah Wright, Phillip Lewter, and Courtney Gipson for donating books to our library.   Thanks to Kathryn Holder, Michael Scott, and Paula Scott for volunteering in the library.   Ms. Rose

From the Guidance Counselor--Red Ribbon Week—October 22nd-26th is a week of educational and fun activities to celebrate a drug free life. "United we can promote a drug-free school and community" is our theme for the week. Please talk with your child about living a drug-free life. The students will be asked to do different activities each day of the week. Some of the activities are:

Monday: Learn about the consequences of using tobacco products, alcohol and other drugs. Write a slogan for yourself for the week. Take home a red ribbon for the family car antenna.

Tuesday: Wear red shirts

Design a red ribbon to wear

Wednesday: Write a personal or a class poem or song about saying No to drugs. Wear your red ribbon.

Thursday: Wear red socks to school
