Dec. 10th, 2001
GOOD NEWSOur computer lab is finished. We will soon be using it. The BOE will not furnish software for our school, so it will be our responsibility to purchase the programs we need for academic instruction. We have 25 Gateway computers, new tables and new chairs. We are very appreciative to the BOE for the lab. If any of you need a large Gateway box or a med one for storage, we have 39 we are going to throw away.
CANDY SALEWe are going to have a candy sale starting the first full week we are back in school after Christmas. We will be selling Hershey chocolate bars, Kit Kat, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and Carmello. The proceeds from the candy sale will be used to purchase software for our computers. All software that we purchase will have to have a license for at least 25 computersthat is why it is so expensive to purchase programs.

FROM THE LIBRARY-Without book fair volunteers we could not have a successful book fair and the volunteers that we had were exceptional! Holly Cortner and Kathryn Holder set up the book fair as well as packed it back up and helped me get the library back in order. I am very grateful to these ladies for all their hard work and dedication to our library! Other helpers during the week in addition to these two ladies were Joan Baker, Dana Gwinn, Laura Housley, Jane Arnold, Tammy Basham, Karen Owens, Christy Vernon, Paula Scott, and Stephanie Jones. Thank you so much, ladies for helping at our book fair! We had a successful fair! As stated in an earlier newsletter, we will not be having another book fair this school year. Thank you, parents and friends, for your help in making our library one that we can be proud of! Kelly and Gina Moore purchased an AR book in honor of Whitson's 6th birthday on December 9, 2001. Happy birthday, Whitson. Thank you for this donation.
