As money becomes available for the purchase of equipment for technology in Grundy County Schools, decisions will be made based upon the expressed needs and desires of teachers, principals and parents in the system. For this reason, all teachers and principals are asked to apply for the GCTIL grants. You may print the following application and submit it to Martha Nixon, Box 97, Altamont, TN 37301. An impartial committee will review all applications and awards will be made based upon the recommendations of this committee. General Directions: *Answer all questions and provide explanations as needed. *Applications must be legible. You may printthe forms from this page and fill in the blanks. *Applicants names or schools must not appear anywhere on the document except on the cover page and page of assurances. This page will be removed before review and coded in order to protect the integrity of the process. * Teachers should leave the application with the principal and the principal will forward the application to the Central Office in a sealed, labeled envelop. Principals are asked to provide any information he/she feels is applicable concerning the application. Explanation of Evaluation: *When an application is received a code will be assigned to the form. The code will be recorded on the application. Three copies of the application will be made. The cover sheet will be removed and filed for later reference. *Two professionals and the technology coordinator will rate each application and assign point values as indicated throughout the application. No application will be evaluated by a person from the bilding where the applicant works. *The scores given by each evaluator will be totaled and recorded on the original. All copies will be kept in the central office for reference, if needed. *All applications will be ranked and awards will be made as funds, gifts, grants are made available, accoding to the merit of the application. All applications will remain active until they are awarded. Teachers may revise the application at any time, but the entire process must be repeated. *No more than two computers will be awarded to any teacher at a time, however, the teacher may reapply for further awards.
