Free Public Education

Tennessee law guarantees the right to free and appropriate public education for all persons ages 3 to 21.

Jackson County School System is responsible for identification, evaluation and services to disabled students ages 3 to 21 who live within the limits of Jackson County. This includes, but is not limited to, children who attend private schools, home schools, and daycare centers.

Parents or guardians of children with disabilities not enrolled in school should contact the Central Office at 711 School Lane, Gainesboro, TN, or call (931)268-0119 to learn more about the services.
