Path Requirements
All students will pursue a focused program of study preparing them for post secondary study in either university or technical training. While all students may not enter post secondary training immediately after high school, they must be prepared for lifelong earning. The paths will be flexible so the student can change from one path to the other. Students in both paths will acquire essential skills and knowledge.
Students will be asked to select one of three paths.
The UNIVERSITY PATH which requires a student to enroll in 4 units of English, 3 units of Math which must include Algebra I or Math for Technology II, Algebra II, and Geometry, 3 units of Science - one must be a Life Science and one must be a Physical Science, 3 units of Social Studies which must include at least unit of Wellness, 2 units in the same Foreign Language and 1 unit of Fine Art. The additional courses used to meet graduation requirements come from elective courses.
The TECHNICAL PATH which requires 4 units of English, 3 units of Math which must include Algebra I or Math for Technology II, 3 units of science-one must be a Life Science and one must be a Physical Science, 3 units of Social Studies which must include 1 unit of U.S. History, 1 unit in either World Geography or World History and at least a 1/2 unit each in U.S. Government and Economics, 1 unit of Wellness, 4 units in the same vocational or technical area. The additional courses used to meet graduation requirements come from elective courses.
The DUAL PATH which requires the student to meet the core requirements of the English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Wellness, Foreign Language and Fine Art of the University Path must meet the requirment of 4 units of the same vocational or technical area as required by the Technical Path.
