We are excited about 1st grade. Here are reminders for the year:

 TESTS

These are graded and returned to you. Any papers graded for benefit of report cards are sent to you. Spelling Practice Tests are on Thursday. Spelling Tests are each Friday. Other testing is administered as subjects and units are completed.

 HOMEWORK

This is completed differently by each teacher. Please check with your child's teacher.

 VOLUNTEERS

We always welcome volunteers in our classrooms. Please call or send a note of your available times,,, ,therefore we can prepare materials that we are in need of help with.

 COMMUNICATION

This is an essential aspect of our 1st grade program. You will receive memos and letters from us throughout the year. Each teacher has a certain day these will be sent to you. Please look for most information on "bright" colored paper. There will also be a Madison Creek Newsletter sent to you monthly.

 BIRTHDAYS

Parties are to be given by the parents. Please check with your child's teacher about the time or date.

 ATTENDANCE

It is very important for your child to be at school. He or she will miss valuable learning time. Please send a note or call when you child should be absent. Refer to Madison Creek handbook for more info on

 BEHAVIOR

Each student is to follow the "Give Me Five" roles that are for the entire school.

Each teacher also has a calendar to be signed daily or weekly. Tickets, prizes, and treats are given as positive reinforcements. Each classroom will also have their own rules.

FEES

The amount is gathered from workbooks, 1st grade pencils and paper, 1st grade dictionary, Weekly Readers, and other needed items. You will receive a list at the beginning of the year.

SUPPLY LIST

This will be given to you at the beginning of the year. It will also be posted on this sight.

PTA

This is an organization set up for the benefit of our school. Please support our PTA. Meeting will be announced by your teacher's newsletter and the Madison Creek Newsletter.

ACTIVITY SCHEDULE

This will be different for each class. Please wear tennis shoes for P.E.class.
