Terry Adkins
by Dara

Terry Adkins is forty-eight years old.  He has mushed in seventeen races, all but two Iditarods.
Mr. Adkins didn't complete in 1973 and the 1975 races.
He has raced in more Iditarods except the "Father of the Iditarod" Joe Redington.
Terry Adkins retired from the Air Force in 1988 as a lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Adkins finished nineteenth in 1974, his debut as a competitor, and nineteenth in 1991, a race he hoped to win.
" You forget the frostbite and you forget the heartaches and you just remember the good parts.
If I died tomorrow I'd have had a full life just running the Iditarod."
