by Jonathan
The Arctic fox can be found in Alaska on the Aleutian Islands. An Arctic Fox that is full grown weighs 6 to 10 pounds. Its full length including the tail is 43 inches (109 cm). The Arctic Fox starts to shed its white fur in April. The Arctic Fox gets its white fur back in September or October. The Arctic Fox is born in a sandy, well drained soil of low mounds and river cutbacks. Foxes that approach humans without hesitation may have rabies and should be killed and submitted to health authorities.

by Jonathan
The humpback Whale is most frequently seen along the southern coast of Alaska. A Humpback Whale's flippers can reach up to 25 to 30 percent of it's body. Adult whales can reach up to 55 feet, but he average adult whale is 42 feet. A whale that was seen in Alaska was seen 39 days later in Hawaii 2,800 miles (4,500km) away. Humpback Whales in Alaska feed on herring and other small schooling fish and krill. A Federal Recovery Plan was formulated for this species in 1991. The intent of this plan is to assist the Humpback Whale population to grow and to reoccupy areas where they were historically found.
