Caribou

A Caribou is like a moose. The Caribou keeps moving to find food. A large herd will cover 400 miles between summer and winter. The population is 950,000 wild Caribou in Alaska and 22,000 are killed each year.
The Caribou is not affected by human activities
in Alaska. In the 1970’s people were concerned about the Caribou.
They wanted the Caribou to stay a healthy part of our landscape.

Northern Hawk Owl

The northern hawk owl can be found in Canada . It is a
medium sized bird with a wing span of 30 feet .When it flies it looks like
a hawk. Northern hawk owl eat mice and red back voles . Their enemies are
the great horn owl and the goshawk.
