  The state flower is the wild Forget-me-not adopted in 1917.  This flower can be found in most areas across the state of Alaska.  The state tree is the Stika Spruce.  The evergreen is found through out the southeastern region of  Alaska.  The state bird is the Ptarmigan adopted by the state in 1955.  Of course the state sport is dog sledding.  The state seal created by a unknown craftsman.  The state flag was designed by a 13 year old!  The is North to future.The gem is Jade.  The state fish is the Red Snapper.They travel in huge packs.

 Alaska is twice the size of Texas. North to south, Alaska is 1,400 miles long.  East to west the state is 2,700 miles long.  The coastline is 47,000 miles long. Alaska's state capitol is Juneau.  The state's largest city is Anchorage a city of over 225,000 people.  Seventeen of the 20 highest peaks in the U.S.  The record high is 100 degrees Fahrenheit and therecord low is -80 degrees farhenheit. The state has over 10,000 glaciers!
