      Soaring to a height of 20,320 feet Mt. McKinley is the highest mountain in North America. The mountain was named after the twenty fifth presidents William McKinley. Its nickname is Denali which means “The Great One” or “The High One”. In 1913 Hudson S tuck and Harry P. Karsten and two other companions were the first to climb the summit of the mountain.
        In central Alaska it is often called the top of the continent because  it  has the heighest mountain in North America . Mt. McKinley was established in 1917 to protect herds of wild animals.It is located in Denali National Park.
