Alaska's wildlife is as varied as the land itself..
As many as 3,500 bald eagles gather to feed on salmon every winter. In the tundra caribou roam . Black and brown bears gather along the coastline to feed on fish and forage for roots and berries.
Other mammals  include the mountain goat, dall sheep, bison, musk ox, elk , sittka ,black and tailed deer, largest of all is the moose.  An adult male moose can weigh up to 1,600 pounds and can stand almost 6 feet tall. Sled dogs get along with the trainer and other animals. The wildlife in the Iditarod area is normal compared to other areas.
