Attendance
We would be very, very happy if every student receives a perfect attendance award this year. All of our programs are based upon day to day learning; a day missed is a day that must be made-up for continuing progress at school.
ATTENDANCE
---- Sumner County Board of Education Attendance Policy: In order to meet the requirement of satisfactory attendance, a student in the Elementary grades shall have an approved record of attendance. An approved record of attendance is considered to be 87 percent attendance in each class. All days in excess of twelve days each semester, both excused and unexcused absences, will be recorded as unexcused unless approved by the building principal or designated representative.
A total of twent-four days absent during the school year may subject a student to retention.
The principal and the teacher(s) involved will hold a conference with the parents/guardians and a decision will be made according to the provisions of board policy IHE, promotion and retention.
ATTENDANCE-- A STUDENT MUST BE AT SCHOOL 3 HRS. AND 20 MINS. TO BE COUNTED PRESENT ALL DAY. A KINDERGARTEN STUDENT MUST BE AT SCHOOL 2 HRS. AND 5 MINS. TO BE COUNTED PRESENT ALL DAY.
REMINDER: All students that are absent will be counted as unexcused unless a note is received by the school explaining why the child is absent. This note can be written by Doctor or Parent. Please remember to send a note every time your child is absent.
