Movie
Review
First off, Transformers! If I had to rate
it I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10. It has a lot of action and suspense in
it. Myself, I mostly liked it because of the action. I am not going to tell
you what happens, but what I am going to say is that it is awesome. I
highly recommend this movie to all people who watch movies. The movie is
about a boy named Sam Witwicky that has a normal life until his father
takes him to get his first car. When he gets his used car from Bobby
Bolivia’s his life takes a turn.
Lucky number 2
is……… Spiderman 3! It also has quite a bit of action in it. I would
probably rate it a 9.0 out of 10. I would highly recommend you watch the
first two Spiderman movies first. There are some parts in it that you have
to have seen the first two Spiderman movies to know what they are talking
about. The film is written and directed by Sam Raimi. This movie is also
available to be seen in IMAX theaters. Spiderman changes when he gets his
black suit. For the better, or for the worse? I can’t tell, you’ll have to go see it for yourself to find out what
happens. This Spiderman was the best of the other
two. Also, here are some pictures from the the movie Spiderman 3.

Power Team Performance
By: Ali Hannah-Belk
The Power Team Performance was awesome for any
age. From bat breaking to brick breaking the show highlighted great
physical feats and challenges. The power team was about having great
character and having faith in your self.
They believe that if you believe in your self then you
can be what ever you want to be. Having good sportsmanship, good
leaders to follow, and good role models are a good place to start.
Eating healthy, proper exercise, and being around good friends are a great
way to start your own power team.

Basketball Season
The basketball season started off with a few very good
games. Both the Lady Cats and the Jr. Cats have been doing a great
job on these first games. Recently ball player. Gavin Davis, shot a
goal from half court and made it! People have been riding pep buses
to show their support for the team. We encourage you to show support
for the team. Both teams are excited about the season and the support
they are receiving from the fans.
The night of homecoming the teams were nervous, but both
teams triumphed. So many people attended the games that their were people standing outside the gym. No one
else could fit on the bleachers! The players are thankful for the
students and parents who have come out to support them so far. Not
only are you being supportive of your team, but you are being supportive of
your school. You are representing SJHS when you attend the away and
home games….thank you!

8th
Grade Homecoming
We all know that the 8th grade took home the spirit award and
won this year’s Homecoming Week by over 100 points, but what else is there
to the story. Well, I’m here to explain it all to those who were absent, in
trouble, or for those who just want to hear about it all one more time.
Homecoming Week was kicked off with Pajama Day, where nearly everybody
participated. Pink nightgowns, blue bathrobes, and fluffy slippers were
just a few examples of the commitment our school, and more importantly the
8th grade, participated in for Homecoming. Teachers were already
offering to stay after school to begin the long and hard work in decorating
our 8th grade hallway. The 8th grade not only got the
hall all the way from Ms. Stutts room down to the gym, but they also were
given the opportunity to decorate the Computer Lab hall as well. This made
our job even harder, for we had much more work to do, but also much more to
work with.
The 2nd day of the week was Sports Day. This is where everyone
was given the chance to put on any kind of sports uniform or fandom
dedicated to their absolute favorite team. Whether it be
football, basketball, or baseball, all of these sports were included in
this year’s dress-up, and the 8th grade sure took advantage of
it. Another surprise for that Tuesday was Mix-it-Up-Day. Teen Leadership
ran this fun-filled activity where students were randomly placed in seats
for lunch. Not only did the students get the opportunity to meet new
people, but prizes such as popcorn passes, No Homework certificates, and
many more were rallied off to certain students that were sitting in the
right seat.
Wednesday was Blue, White, and Gold day. Students got the chance to show
off their school spirit by wearing the school colors in order to show
support for the Jr. Wild Cats! The final day of the Homecoming competition
was Thursday. Not only was this the final day to wrap up Hall Decorating,
but the Pep Rally, face painting, and all the fun-filled Homecoming Events
were also jam-packed into one exciting afternoon of no schoolwork! By that
afternoon, almost everyone’s faces were painted, courtesy of the Beta Club,
and 8th Grade was ready to take action and claim the Homecoming
Prize for the second year running. First came the
events. Jelly Bean, Lemon Roll, Dizzy Dribble, Foul Shots, Under-and-over,
this was truly intense. The 8th grade did manage to conquer most
of the events, however. Ms. Dixon’s 8th grade class won the
Over-and-under, but ultimately failed to the wrath of 7th grade
Mr. Hughes. 8th grade did win events such as the jellybean,
boy’s lemon roll, and others. After the events came the Pep Rally, which
was a very fierce battle for school spirit led by the Jr. Cats
Cheerleaders. This event ultimately ended in a surprise twist where Ms.
Stutts announced the results would be declared at the basketball games that
evening.
Overall, on the night of the
Homecoming Basketball Games, it was announced that the 8th grade
had won the Homecoming for the second year in a row! Fortunately, the score
wasn’t even close at 225 to 95, meaning the 8th grade had not
only won most of the smaller events, but also the Pep Rally and Hall
Decorating. It was also a great night for Sweetwater, where both the girl’s
and boy’s Varsity Teams claimed a victory over Meigs
County.
Homecoming Week was definitely a blast for Sweetwater Junior High. –Ryan
