Internet Learning Resources This site consists of links to resources useful in teaching Internet skills. The list is divided into several sections including self-teaching materials; materials aimed at educators teaching other people Internet skills; sections for foreign language materials and visually impaired users; and a list of other resources for locating Internet learning materials. Library in the Sky This site offers resources, support and subjects sites for teachers, students, parents and librarians. Examples include support for the principal, teacher and nurse as well as the family, student and community. Under resources, they include subject searches, author searches, and lessons & curricula. All K-12 subjects are included. The Music Educator's Home Page Internet resource for music educators. This site contains curriculum materials and links to other useful sites. Music Education Online Music Education site for Grades K-12. This page compiles sites relating to a variety of music education resources online and includes and interactive bulletin board for posting questions and comments. WORLD EDUCATION EXCHANGE-W.E.E. Provided by Hamline University, this page offers resources and links categorized by subject. Included subjects are geography, world language, school models, "just for kids," grants, technology innovations, black information network, and virtual classrooms. Web Sites And Resources For Teachers Two Elementary Education Professors at California State University maintain this page for K-12 resources including language arts, science, math, art, music, ESL/bilingual, and "just for kids." Under each topic is an extensive list of related sites and links. It is well worth visiting. The Millennium Matters This is a site that looks at things related to the turn of the century. They are both informative and unusual. They include links for articles, spiritual and psych/paranormal things, a link called sphinx matters which has historical material from prehistory to archaeology to mythology. A link called Gaia Alert which deals with environmental issues and obviously how we are messing things up and how to do your part. It has a UFO link(of course) and one called Vision which goes to other alternative information links.It also have a link that leads to good web sites that they have picked. Digital Education Network This site has several pages called "dens" which are subject oriented. It offers writing, math, science and internet information. One site is the news den which deals with current social studies events. Each page has many other activities to do on each subject oriented page. Good for both teachers and students. Collaborative Learning and the Internet This site deals with collaborative learning groups and how these learning groups can utilize the internet for dialogue. This site is from the Educational Technology Unit of the School of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. It provides links to an abstract, introduction, mechanisms of collaborative learning, conditions of collaborative learning, conclusions, references, and the authors. Healthwise Columbia University sponsors this interactive question & answer service that also maintains a search engine and a wealth of online info. For an education, browse the previously submitted questions that are organize categorically: Fitness & Nutrition, Sexuality, Drugs, etc. Encyclopedia Britannica Birthday Calendar Provides a list and description of approximately 50 different international figures, for each day on the calendar. The Discovery Channel From an education perspective, it has an online data base of articles (nature,technology, history, culture, etc.). Documentaries and education multimedia are available for order. |
