GALLAGHER GUITAR

One of the more fascinating points of interest in Wartrace is Gallagher Guitar. In 1939 J.W. Gallagher began making furniture, but he was also building acoustic guitars. In May of 1965, he began making guitars full time. Since then, Gallagher Guitar has become one of the most well-known brands of guitars in the world. In 1979 Gallagher's son, Don, took over the business.

Since its opening, Gallagher Guitar has made about 2,500 guitars. Exotic wood used to construct the guitars is taken to a specially-designed room and cured for eight years before it is used. Each guitar takes at least a month to assemble and a month to finish. Don actually makes most of the guitars from personal requests. Doc Watson, Paul McCartney, Wynonna Judd, Neil Diamond, Grandpa Jones, and Johnny Cash all own Gallagher guitars.
