JACKSON COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM
MISSION/VISION
The mission of the Jackson County Adult Education
Program is to provide quality education services to adults, and
promote: (a) knowledge and skills leading to employment and self
sufficiency (b) completion of secondary education, and (c) preparation
for post-secondary training. The vision of Jackson County Education
is to enrich and improve the curriculum to meet the growing needs
of business and society.
TYPES OF PROGRAMS OFFERED
- Literacy Classes--Basic instruction in the
"3 R's"
- Academic Upgrading groups--Advancement Prep
- TABE Pre and Post Tests; also OPT testing
- Workforce Development--Specific job-related
classes
- Computer Literacy Classes (80-hour curriculum)
- ACT, SAT and other college entrance Test
Prep
- Job Search Prep--Resume and Interview Practice
- Two Families First (DHS sponsored) Classes
CLASS INFORMATION
Adult Education classes are held at
201 W. Hull Avenue in Gainesboro, TN. Special classes are held
at local industries.
The Adult Learning Center hours at
the 201 W. Hull Ave. location are as follows:
7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.--Monday - Friday
1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.--Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday
1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.--Tuesday and
Thursday
The OPT Test is given by appointment.
