Booth space offered for Rugby fest


Area craftfolk and visual artists are invited to apply for juried booth space at Historic Rugby's 23rd Annual Historic Rugby Festival of British and Appalachian Culture, set for May 17 and 18. Crafts and visual arts will be demonstrated and sold both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time in booths set up around Rugby's historic buildings.

The festival booth fee is $25, with no commissions or other charges. Entries are juried through photographs or slides submitted with an application form. Festival is being expanded this year to include many more aspects of British and Appalachian culture, while showcasing the highest quality crafters and artists possible. This the first year applications from visual artists whose work relates to the festival theme are being invited.

Historic Rugby is located 17 miles southeast of Jamestown on State Scenic Highway 52, adjacent to the Big South Fork National Park. The restored 1880's village is open year-round offering guided tours, museum stores and restaurant, river gorge hiking trails and lodging in historic buildings.
