Getting to Rugby
Rugby is located atop the beautiful Cumberland Plateau of East Tennessee. Access to the rural community is gained from Interstates 75 and 40.
Take Interstate 40 to the Harriman Exit.
Take Highway 27 North.
Follow Highway 27 through Harriman, Wartburg, and Sunbright.
In the Elgin community, take highway 52 West.
Rugby is approximately 7 miles from the Highway 27 and 52 junction.
Either follow Highway 27 all the way from Chattanooga or take Interstate 75.
If following Highway 27, follow the directions from Knoxville.
If taking Interstate 75, exit at the Mabry Hood Road/Pellissippi Parkway (Highway 162 West) into Oak Ridge.
Continue on Highway 62 to Oliver Springs.
At the first traffic light in Oliver Springs, turn right to stay on Highway 62.
Follow Highway 62 to Wartburg (about 18 miles).
At the first traffic light, turn right on Highway 27 and follow the directions for Knoxville.
From Nashville:
- Take Interstate 40 to the Harriman exit.
- Follow the directions in the Knoxville section.
From Lexington, Kentucky:
- Take Interstate 75 south the Huntsville/Oneida Exit.
- Go west on Highway 63.
- Turn south at the Highway 27 junction.
- In the Elgin community go west on Highway 52.
- Rugby is about 7 miles.
