Homecoming 2007 Schedule

Homecoming Theme is: Sharing with Best Friends and Classmates

Friday: October 12

(1) No games – Open date

Saturday: October 13

(1) Senior Citizens Breakfast. 

Breakfast starts at 7:00 am and runs to 11:00 am

Menu

Eggs and Sausage

Biscuits and Gravy

Homemade Jelly, Jams, and Butter

Coffee, Milk, and Juice

Cost: $5.00

(2) Parade lines up at 10:00 am with the Fire Department in charge. Step off of the parade is at 11:00 am.   Bear and Stacy Jackson have agreed to handle the parade line-up.

The route has been established and Bear and the Fire Dept will coordinate the parade.

We also discussed scattering floats and four wheelers throughout the parade to add variety and not bunch the four wheelers together for safety reasons.

(3) The school will be open for visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

(4) Events and vendors in the park. 

(a) Bear Jackson and Stacy are working to get the vendors lined up for the Park.  They are expecting between 25 and 35 vendors in the park.

(b) The Jacket Foundation plans to have "Cow Patty" Bingo. 

Wade Adcock will coordinate the Cow Patty Bingo with Mike Justice for the Foundation.

(c) Boys and Girls Clubs have agreed to coordinate events in the Park for the kids.  I talked with Ted McKinney and he said they would send someone to the meeting next time.

(d) Food will be White Beans and cornbread, Barbecue, fried apple pies, and all the trimmings.

(e) We will have an Alumni Central location at the Senior Citizen’s Breakfast, in the park and on Sunday to gather contact information for Alumni.

(f) The Library Association:

The Library Association will hold an open house the day of homecoming. The LA will honor the Graduating Class of 1957 with a special tribute to Alma Jones a grad of that class and a productive community member that will be greatly missed.

(g) The Genealogy Association will have a booth in the park with exhibits from their research on families, places, and events in Coalfield’s history.

Sunday: October 14

Lunch starts at 12:30 pm.

Rolls

Various desserts

Coffee, Tea, Coke, and Water

Cost : $7.00

(1) Lunch: Sherill Jackson, Susie Rivers and the Cafeteria folks for the school.   Ms. Sarah Walters’s class will assist us with the meal.
