Coalfield Field House Project Goal and Plans
The Goal of the Coalfield House project is to design, build and equip an athletic training facility for use by Coalfield School Students and Student Athletes, boys and girls and it will provide physical conditioning for both aerobic and strength training. It has been proven by numerous studies that students are safer and healthier when a rigorous physical conditioning program is in place for all students, regardless whether they play competitive sports.
Plans
The current plan is to provide a facility with 4,800 sq/feet
and with a footprint that is 40 ft. by 120 ft.

that is connected with the current school facilities, an integrated building
video surveillance and burglar system, with secure access that meets the
current security plan for
Workforce will be provided by the Community, contractors, and hopefully the Morgan County Correction Facility.

The current schedule calls for a completion date of

of an approved drawing package to the Fire Marshal’s office by

(5) Start work on building facilities by April, 2006.

Funding
Funding will be accomplished by donations and fund raising activities. The start date for the building will be contingent on having $65,000.00 on hand. This will allow for the construction of the building to the point that is can be placed under lock and key.
Every attempt will be made to secure donated or reduced prices for materials.
Numerous plans are being developed for fund raising. This is a very large undertaking and it will take support from everyone.
