We have started using this close-focus, computer-driven imaging system to examine the kinetics of ethylene growth responses in other plant species (Kim et al. 2012). In addition to uncovering differences between various species, we hope to combine this approach with molecular biology to elucidate details of ethylene signaling in other plants with a focus on agriculturally and horticulturally important species.
