Biomedical Engineering Student | Innovator | Global Thinker | Kuchipudi Dancer
Hi there! I’m Sai Lakshanya, a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Tennessee with a passion for blending science, creativity, and innovation to solve real-world healthcare challenges.
🔬 Whether it’s tissue engineering, drug delivery, or bio-integrated devices, I’m driven by the desire to push the boundaries of biomedical science. My current research focuses on hydrogels and bio-inspired materials, exploring their potential applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering. I also mentor students in MATLAB and robotics, helping them navigate the technical aspects of engineering with confidence.
💡 When I’m not in the lab, you’ll find me actively fostering diversity and inclusion as a leader in UTK’s Global Ambassador Program or organizing cultural initiatives as Vice President of the Indian Student Association. I’m passionate about creating spaces where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and supported.
🎨 Fun fact: I’ve been a Kuchipudi dancer since the age of 5! The discipline, creativity, and precision that dance requires complement my love for engineering, where every detail matters.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to further explore cutting-edge fields like surgical robotics, neuro-therapeutics, and drug delivery, and I’m eager to contribute to innovations that can improve healthcare worldwide.
Let’s connect if you’re interested in biomedical research, or healthcare innovations, or if you just enjoy a good cup of chai! 😊
