Brief Biography

Gyanender Singh is Research Scientist at the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Dr. Singh has expertise in determining the thermo-mechanical behavior of materials under complex physical conditions with the aim of predicting the performance of structures and components under operation and design optimization.  Besides, he holds significant experience in mechanical testing of ceramic composites, monoliths, graphite and HDPE, and also works on developing non-destructive techniques for evaluating the mechanical properties of these materials.

Prior to joining UTK, Dr. Singh conducted postdoctoral studies at Oak Ridge National Laboratory with focus on modeling and analyzing core components for nuclear applications. He received his M.S. and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He received his B.Tech. degree in Production and Industrial Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2009.
