Concrete Canoe

The national division of American Society of Civil Engineers annually challenges civil engineering students to design a lightweight concrete canoe. This competition requires students use effective material design with lightweight concrete and structural design by making a hydrodynamic shape that will glide through the water and provide stability in the water. The concrete canoes are raced at the annual ASCE regional conference. Every canoe has a unique theme that sets it apart from other schools and gives the competition a fun atmosphere.
