I am originally from South Korea. Issues of democratization and reunification on the Korean Peninsula have motivated/driven me to pursue my career in international relations and politics. As a scholar, I am trying to tackle puzzles we have faced in the era of globalization and explain/narrow gaps between academic/theoretical understanding and real practices/situations. I have presented my work at numeraous conferences, universities, and institutions around the world including the United States, South Korea, and China. I have received external grants from organizations including Academy of Korean Studies.

I enjoy playing and/or watching sports such as tennis and soccer. I am a big fan for Spurs and Michigan State basketball. Go Green, Go White!
