Elementary Practical Physics; Allegories of Love;
Instruments of Passion

L&N STEM Academy Student Parking Lot

Berel Lutsky

In his project “Elementary Practical Physics; Allegories of Love; Instruments of Passion,” Berel Lutsky presents an a large scale accordion book printed to 48 x 32 inch panels. The work is premised on reinterpretations of diagrams found in a high school physics book. Recognizing that Marcel Duchamp’s famous “Large Glass” is in part an allegory of love presented as a mechanical diagram, Duchamp's idea, and his love of the visual pun are extended and applied to visual explanations of the basics of physics. STEM becomes STEAM(y).
